Our first 6 months – Wing Chun Kung Fu
Hi Everyone,
Monday celebrates our first 6 months as Panther Wing Chun and it has been fantastic to see our family grow over this time from 4 to 14 (+ 4 guys that joined our classes last week – James, Chris, Nathan, Allen) that’s about 18. Peter and I have been really impressed with the standard everyone has been able to achieve in this short time, a credit to your efforts in training.
It was really good to see Daniel, putting some of his wing chun kung fu skills to the test in last weekends Emerald Dragon tournament. (with excellent results).
In my talks with Peter last week we think it is a good time for us now to start to introduce a bit of controlled free/random sparring into the training mix. In order for this to happen you will need to equip yourself with some sparring gear. This is available at Emerald Dragon Kwoon reception for $50 a set (including mouthguard) and Sifu David ensures me he has plenty of stock.
The arm and leg pads will also be necessary for some of the technique work we will be going through in class now.
Thanks to all who have come to join our family and I hope it continues to grow and we all have heaps of fun learning this incredible art and a big thanks to Sifu David for making us feel so welcome as part of a bigger Emerald Dragon Family.
